At MOIR, we believe that having the best-fit mini inverter compressors is merely the first step to our customer’s investment in compact cooling solution applications. Delivering products with satisfying performance is the other critical element. And making the use of small cooling systems in a proper way to boost efficient productivity is a key drive of positive revenue.
The use of the mini inverter compressors and disposal operations or the use of a different refrigerant gas from the stated ones may cause damage to people or the compressor itself. Therefore in this article, we summarize the common issues and tips for the compressor’s use instruction and installation, to ensure the units perform in a highly efficient, and highly reliable way.
1. Refrigerant Management
- The compressor has been tested and shipped for operation with HFC-R134a refrigerants.
- Only high purity (above 99.9% or above 99.5% if possible) HFC-R134a refrigerant is allowed to be charged.
- Refrigerant charged must be from the high-pressure end after vacuuming.
2. Oil Charging
- The R134a refrigerant is associated with rigorous requirements for the internal cleanliness of the refrigeration system. It requests exclusive use of oil as a lubricant. The special refrigeration oil POE RL-68H is recommended and it is compatible with the R134a which performs high reliability. This lubricant is highly water-soluble which can cause the formation of acid residues.
- The refrigeration oil volume is limited due to the compressors’ compact size. Extra POE68# oil should be added after the system connection so the pump can get adequate lubrication
- Using a syringe load the compressor with adequate refrigeration oil through the discharge port.
3. Vacuum Buildup
The refrigerant HFC-134a requires the use of polyester oil which is highly hygroscopic and has a high water-absorbing capacity. This kind of oil requires the highest level of care in system evacuation.
A proper evacuation process will ensure that the air and moisture contents are well below allowable limits. Hence, the pumping should be made from both the high and low-pressure sides of the compressor for building a vacuum in the system
4. Installation
- Installation maintenance must be carried out by qualified specialists only. All connections, like soldering and flare joints, should be made professionally. Keep surroundings with sufficient ventilation. Remove transport safety devices if any.
- When mounting the compressor, use the rubber grommets shipped by the manufacturer. Tilting should be controlled within 5°.
- Compressors should be installed into the systems within 15mins after the rubber plugs are removed. Exposing the compressors to air for a long time is not allowed. The plug in the discharge pipe should be removed before the suction pipe to avoid oil bursting out.
5. Mini Inverter Compressors Unpacking
- All mini inverter compressors shipped are filled with refrigeration oil, evacuated, sealed with low-pressure nitrogen, and capped. Besides the compressor, all other components should be internally dried, sealed, and stored in an environment with no corrosive kinds of stuff containing acid or alkaline.
- Keep the compressors in an upright position when removing them from the packaging. Failure operation will cause the flow of oil into the suction accumulator and process connection which will result in brazing problems.

6. Starting
- Do not start up the miniature dc compressor till it is installed into the system and The right level of refrigerant is filled.
- No running should be made when the mini rotary compressors are exposed to air.
- 3 minutes at least should be left for internal pressure to be balanced between the 2 times startup.
7. Positioning for Safety
The variable speed rotary dc compressors have passed strict safety checking prior to shipping out of the factory. Please orient and position them for safety
8. Storage
- Before installation, compressors should be stored in an upright position to prevent oil from entering the suction or discharge pipes.
- Store the compressors in cool, dry, and not dusty places, with good ventilation. The relative humidity should be lower than 80%
9. Operating Observation
- Please check the capillary and the condenser is properly matched when the compressor is overheated and the current is too high
- Please check if the pipes and compressor are installed properly when it operates with abnormal noise and vibration.
- Please check if the condenser and evaporator are designed properly when the compressor is failed or poor refrigeration. Make sure the system is completely vacuumed and with no residual moisture. The inadequate refrigeration oil also causes poor cooling capacity.
- Repeatedly testing for the initial prototype cooling system is possible for some refrigeration oil to leave the compressor. This can lead to the refrigeration oil lacking. which can cause insufficient pressure in the compressor high-pressure side. A sign of this would be an increase in the oil level until proper work.
10. General Requirements
- The compressor and all other components should remain sealed until they are ready to use.
- Noise and vibration should not occur during the normal working operation of the compressors.
- Never energize the compressor under vacuum conditions
- Do not build vacuum in compressors alone
- Never power up the compressor when the rubber plugs are removed, to prevent oils from blustering out.
The right use of the mini compressor and microclimate refrigeration systems is the key driver for successful performance and high productivity. Be sure to follow the instructions when getting started to run the compressor and store them in the right space.
