3 Ways to Fast Determine the Fault of Mini Refrigerated Compressors

Cooling unit problem solution

Driven by the growing segment market demand, mini refrigerated compressors are widely used by many portable or mobile cooling systems and compact thermal management applications. And each miniature compressor has gone through the process of structural optimization and technological innovation.  We, MOIR always keep on looking for novel ways on our mini BLDC rotary compressor, have made great progress in production technology, and the performance covers a wider range of industries.

As one of the most crucial components of compact refrigeration and air conditioning systems, the mini compressor’s performance determines the quality and characteristics of the cooling systems.  While compressor failure is one of the most serious problems the system can have.

To ensure normal operation and effectively extend the lifetime of the mini refrigerated compressors, it is essential to determine the failure and cause of it and to do a good job in the daily maintenance. Generally, we can check whether the mini vapor compressor is in the normal working state by 3 effective and fast methods. That’s by observing,  listening, and sensing.

Let us check in.

1. Observing

Observing is to carefully check and see whether the various transmission parts are loose because of long-time and high-speed operation. Besides,  to inspect whether the lubricating oil and refrigerant are insufficient, to whether the liquid coolant flows smoothly, the cooling capacity is enough. Furthermore, to check whether there is oil leakage at the connection between each pipeline.

2. Listening

Listening to the sound of the small-size compressor is to determine whether it is on normal running status.  If the noises of the operating mini compressor sound loud, it is necessary to shut it down and find out the cause. A clicking noise is the most common signal of wear and tear on the miniature dc compressor motor. Or it is probably caused by friction between different components because of too much clutter.

3. Sensing

Sensing is to touch the surface temperature of the miniature inverter compressor by hand. If there are metal clips, fibers, and impurities getting into the tubing system when installing the miniature refrigeration compressor, it will cause the tubing blockage, resulting in the secondary coolant failing to return back. This will cause the mini compressor temperature to rise which might make the motor burn.

Suppose you want to judge the cause of the compressor failure accurately. In that case, you need to get a comprehensive knowledge of the working principle of the miniature compressors and the use of data, the role of the compressor components, prone to failure, and the reaction of failure, then combining with the three tips by looking, listen, touch at this article. In short, doing a good job of daily maintenance of the compressor can avoid a lot of failures and save your investment.

The Small Refrigerated Compressor Cooling System Working Principle

The small and mobile cooling system working is the same technology used in your home refrigerator to make the inside of your refrigerator colder than the room where it sits.  Compression cooling uses refrigerant phase change to efficiently cool heat sources to temperatures below the ambient temperature.

The compressor is the heart of the compact cooling system. Its job is to compress the low-temperature, low-pressure refrigerant gas from the evaporator where it absorbs heat( the inside of the refrigerator) to high-temperature, high-pressure gas and pumps it to the condenser where it rejects heat(to the ambient air in the room outside the refrigerator).  The gas phase change from gas to liquid as the high temperature falls down to the surrounding ambient environment.  The liquid refrigerant coming out of the condenser is throttled to low pressure and temperature when flowing through the capillary tube.

The liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator(heat exchanger) where it is exposed to the heat source and absorbs heat again from space that cools the equipment needs cooling.  The low-pressure and low-temperature refrigerant is sucked into the miniature compressor to cycle the cooling again.
