Direct Expansion systems are designed to satisfy the growing market that wants the vapor-compression refrigeration cycle, to meet their compact device’s direct refrigerant cooling requirement. It is known as Direct Refrigerant cooling or Refrigerant circulating systems or DC condensing units.
The main components of the dc refrigeration system is a miniature rotary compressor, condenser, expansion valve(capillary), driver board, filter drier, and other refrigeration parts. The mini dc compressor is the heart of the system.
Driven by the micro refrigeration compressor, the refrigerant flows directly through the cold plate(acting as an evaporator) with circulation. The advantages are substantial. it eliminates the use of secondary coolant, instead, the refrigerant absorbs heat directly at the heat source through a contact heat exchanger(cold plate).

The direct refrigeration unit does not use a secondary coolant, instead the refrigerant flows directly through the cold plate with the circulation being driven by the miniature compressor, minimizing part count and maximizing thermal efficiency

In the direct expansion unit, there is no need for a liquid pump, water tank, associated tubing, and connector and tubing- sources of failure and leaks. The DX cooling system only needs a minimal parts. This method minimizes the size and component count of the system and maximizes the highest efficiency and capacity.
Compared to commercial liquid coolers, MOIR’s direct expansion evaporator system is as much as 20 times smaller and 20 times lighter. The cooling capacity for direct expansion cooling is 45% greater than that of a liquid cooler.
Due to the elimination of the liquid pump and the secondary coolant loop, the compact dc condensing unit is greatly improving reliability with a long lifetime exceeding 90,000 hours.
