Motor controllers are used with both direct current and alternating current motors. A controller includes means to connect the motor to the electrical power supply, and may also include overload protection for the motor, and over-current protection for the motor and wiring. A motor controller may also supervise the motor’s field circuit, or detect conditions such as low supply voltage, incorrect polarity or incorrect phase sequence, or high motor temperature. Some motor controllers limit the inrush starting current, allowing the motor to accelerate itself and connect mechanical load more slowly than a direct connection. Motor controllers may be manual, requiring an operator to sequence a starting switch through steps to accelerate the load, or may be fully automatic, using internal timers or current sensors to accelerate the motor.

The motor drive controller works by converting input power into a controlled electrical signal that drives the mini compressor or other equipment. It uses the TI DSP280025 drive chip and FOC control method to accurately regulate the compressor’s speed and torque.
Coupled with the programmable main controller (developed by OEM engineer and integrator), the motor drive board also monitors the compressor’s operating conditions and activates protection functions if any abnormalities are detected. For example, if the input voltage exceeds a safe level, the overvoltage protection function will activate, shutting down the compressor to prevent damage. Similarly, if the compressor stalls or fails to start, the stall protection function will activate, ensuring the compressor does not continue to operate in an unsafe state.
For the potentiometer interface, it can be through resistance speed regulation, not supporting the analog voltage signal yet. To achieve this, a modification would need to be made.
The maximum cable length connecting the drive board and compressor can be up to 650mm. Typically it is enough for most of your electrical connection.
