About Miniature Compressor

MOIR focuses on working for mini dc compressors based on miniature refrigeration technology with years of experience. The rotary dc compressor is the heart of the refrigeration & air conditioning system, comparable to a human heart or a car engine. It raises the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant vapor by reducing its volume.

MOIR’s mini vapor compressor is a variable capacity DC Compressor driven by a drive board, with a cooling capacity of 100 watts(340Btu/h) to 500 watts. The driver can real-time update motor parameters via the frequency of a sine wave signal, with variable speeds ranging from 1,200rpm to 6,500rpm.

Our mini dc rotary compressor can be utilized in the applications of LBP, MBP, and HBP.

LBP (Low Back Pressure) indicates the range of low evaporating temperatures, typically -10°C down to -35°C or even -45°C. , applies to freezers, refrigerators, etc.
MBP (Medium Back Pressure) indicates the range of medium evaporating temperatures, typically -20°C up to 0°C., and generally applies to cold drink cabinets, milk coolers, etc.
HBP (High Back Pressure) indicates high evaporating temperatures, typically -5°C up to +15°C, and generally applies to air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, etc.

Capillary or expansion valve is a throttling device of a kind, one of the essential parts of refrigeration and air conditioning systems to complete the cycle of refrigeration. It drops the pressure of the high-temperature, high-pressure liquid refrigerant that comes from the condenser, to allow expansion or phase change from a liquid to a vapor in the evaporator where it’s exposed to the heat source.

  1. Air cooling
  2. Liquid cooling
  3. Direct refrigerant cold plate

Normally, miniature DC compressors are used in mobile refrigeration systems. DC power is produced by batteries, car charging, solar panels, or an AC inverter power supply. MOIR compressors are available for 12V, 24V, and 48V power supply.

The refrigerant recharge must be from the high pressure end (condenser side).

Only high purity (above 99.9% or above 99.95% if possible) HFC-134a be allowed

There are 4 ways to adjust compressor speed.

  1. Potentiometer speed control(already have)
  2. 0-5v Speed control

  3. PWM Speed Control
  4. TTL communication port

The above 4 ways, the most common way to control the compressor is through potentiometer (included) adjustment.

Normally, the selection of a compressor should be made according to the following system cooling characteristics and operating conditions:

  1. Minimum evaporator temperature

  2. Maximum condensing temperature

  3. Refrigerant type

  4. Ambient temperature

  5. Cooling capacity

  6. Electrical power available

  7. Compressor and drive cooling

The drive board in MOIR cooling module is a variable speed drive. It allows the cooling capacity of the system to be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the compressor speed. The compressor drive board utilizes a user supplied 0-5VDC analog signal to set the compressor speed.

The base refrigeration system consists of a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve, and an evaporator. It uses the phase change of R134a refrigerant which has high heat thermal conductivity and heat absorption capacity to efficiently cool heat sources to temperatures below the ambient air. The refrigerated technology is the same used in your home refrigerator, making the inside temp of your refrigerator lower than the space it places.

Our Water Chiller Modules are perfect for cooling high heat flux components and in applications where a solution must be rugged and reliable. They are also ideal for small liquid cooling where weight and space are crucial.

About Liquid Chiller Module

Yes. Except for our off-the-shelf small cooling units, we can design-custom solutions to fit almost any purpose. Our advanced miniature refrigeration compressor and small cooling units, combined with our novel packaging approaches can bring out the smallest footprint, highest cooling capacity at a minimum cost to meet your unique requirement. The customization includes modifications to the cooling capacity, temperature range, and dimensions and so forth, to fit the specific application.

We developed a lineup of compact liquid chiller to sastify the growing market segment of micro cooling. The dimension of them are difference. For example, our off-the-shelf model MC02824E-P6 is 197 x 190 x 148mm.

Proper maintenance of a Mini-Chilled Water Systems includes regular cleaning, inspection of components, and ensuring proper lubrication and coolant levels. Our water chiller is a ingerated subsystem and problem-free operation. Each system is hermetically sealed, charged and tested with our strigent process prior to shipment.

The power consumption of a mini chiller varies depending on the size, cooling capacity, and operating conditions. However, miniature liquid chillers are designed to be energy efficient and consume less power than other cooling solutions.

No. Compact liquid chiller modules are designed to operate quietly, making them ideal for use in noise-sensitive environments such as laboratories, clinic, school, and medical facilities. The noise level of our small cooling system is >50dB.

Yes, miniature liquid chiller modules can be used in conjunction with other cooling solutions, such as air-cooled heat exchangers, to provide a complete and efficient cooling system.

The main difference between air-cooled chillers and water-cooled chillers is the way they remove heat from the refrigerant.

Air-cooled chiller: uses air to remove heat from the refrigerant in the chiller. They are typically more energy efficient and easier to maintain, but may not be suitable for areas with high temperatures or poor air quality.

water-cooled chiller: uses water to remove heat from the refrigerant. They are more efficient at removing heat but require a separate cooling tower and more maintenance.

About Direct Expansion System

Direct expansion is known as a direct refrigerant system and dc condensing unit( DX system). The dc condensing unit is the world’s smallest micro refrigeration system however offers the highest heat transfer rates. It can be easily integrated into many final solutions that are compact, quiet, reliable, and low consumption.

  2. Smallest footprint, easy to integrate,
  3. MTBF >90,000 hours
  4. Seal-contained subsystem, no user maintenance
  5. No liquid pump, no plastic tubing, eliminating the failure due to leaks
  6. Offers the highest heat flux

The direct refrigeration system is a set of cooling units directly flowing refrigerant through the cold plate evaporator with the circulation being driven by the mini compressor. It does not use a secondary coolant, instead, the refrigerant absorbs heat directly at the heat source through contact the heat exchanger( cold plate).

The refrigerant circulating systems eliminated the need for water lines and pumps(sources of leaks and failure), thus eliminating downtime for maintenance and repairs to the user’s device. Direct expansion cooling simplifies the system configuration, minimizing the size and component count of the system, also, improving reliability with a longer lifespan of 90,000 hours. It is smaller, and lighter but offers the highest efficiency.

The direct expansion evaporator system can be used in various applications, including:

  • mini-refrigerator
  • Laser cooling
  • Laboratory equipment cooling,
  • Precision instrument cooling
  • Electronic cooling

The DX cool units and chilled water are two ways of cooling systems used in HVAC systems.

DX systems: Use refrigerant to directly cool the air.

Chilled water system: Use water that is cooled by a refrigeration unit to cool the air

Both systems have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the specific needs of your applications.

The typical operating temperature range for a direct expansion refrigerant cooling system depends on the application and the specific requirements. Using MOIR miniature compressor technology, the direct expansion unit can operate at temperatures as low as -15°C (-40°F) or as high as 55°C (131°F).
